I’m very envious of photographers who lived in the pre-digital era. Their camera bodies and lenses had beautiful design aesthetics while also being functional.
Their machinery could be worn like jewelry.

When I saw the Rock & Roll Snake Rope Strap and perused the brand’s entire site, I knew I’d found a camera strap company that valued style.
To be considered the best camera strap for DSLR (or mirrorless) cameras, however, it would need to also be functional and well made. So, was it?

Build & Appearance
I knew the silver grey version of the Rock & Roll Snake Rope Camera Strap would be aesthetically pleasing when attached to my Olympus OM-G film camera and Zuiko 50mm f/1.8 lens.
This circa 1972 camera body and lens has quite the heft to it and this camera strap exudes strength and feels secure.
My friend and fellow photographer Kay is wearing the 100cm version in silver grey in these photos. She remarked how comfortable the strap felt. I agree.
The leather endings are made of high-quality Italian leather.
The endings are made of Italian leather and scream quality. The black and grey match up nicely with my retro camera.
The strap itself is Poly silk rope and has a very soft feel.
I’m not so sure I’d secure a pro-level DSLR like a Nikon D5 with this neck strap, but if I did I wouldn’t worry about the structure of it being harsh at all.

Ease of Use
The Rock & Roll Snake Rope Camera Strap comes in two different sizes for different body types and heights.
The Rock & Roll Snake Rope Camera Strap is fairly easy to attach to any camera accepting split rings. I’d love to see a more universal clip attachment design, but this may compromise security.
Fuji users need to mention their brand on the note section of their order so the correct split rings are given.
Another use is to wrap the rope strap around your hands for on-the-move street photography. The soft Poly silk rope will not irritate your skin at all.
The Rock & Roll Snake Rope Camera Strap does double duty as a wrist strap.
Value for Money
A retro film camera is safely secured by a Poly silk rope strap.
With its premium build quality and pleasing good looks, the Rock & Roll Snake Rope Camera Strap comes in at a fair price of around $55 US.

I definitely plan on keeping and using the Rock & Roll Snake Rope Camera Strap and possibly picking up another one in a different color.
Perhaps a Cadmium Red version mated with a solid black Olympus Pen F will do the trick.
